Frequently Asked Questions
About the DME Program

  • Should I discontinue prescription medications while on this program?

Not necessarily. Please consult with your physician before discontinuing or changing any medication. Certain prescription medications such as anti-seizure drugs, blood thinners and some heart medications need to be monitored when changing diets or introducing new supplements. Some people notice that they need less medication for blood pressure, glucose and pain control.  Work with your health care practitioner to adjust levels as necessary.

  • Can I use this program if I am pregnant or nursing  a baby?

Since some of the nutrients in our supplements have not been tested in pregnant or nursing mothers yet, we do not recommend it.

  • Can I start the detox program if I have a medical condition?

The Detox Made Easy program is nutritionally well-balanced and has been used by many people with chronic diseases. However, as with any dietary or supplement changes you make, careful and frequent monitoring is a must. Please consult a physician knowledgeable with the practice of natural medicine, as we are not in a position to advise you on whether this program is appropriate or not for your condition.

There are a number of conditions in which we do not recommend the DME:

  • Pregnancy or lactation

  • Children younger than 18 years old

  • Active liver disease

  • Active cancer

  • Diabetes Type 1

  • Bipolar Disorder

  • If you have an allergy to any of the supplements

  • Can I use the DME Metabolic Detox Powder without the program?

Yes; DME Metabolic Detox Powder is an excellent source of well-assimilated protein and other nutrients, therefore it can be used indefinitely as a gentle cleanse or as a meal addition or replacement.

  • What if I am constipated?

To properly do a detox  program, you need to have regular (daily or more often) bowel movements. If you are not eliminating well, you may need to take additional DME Fiber Detox caps, Magnesium Citrate,  or other fiber supplement to activate your bowels.

  • I am gluten or dairy sensitive, is it safe for me?

Absolutely! The whole program is dairy and gluten free.

  • Should I expect my symptoms to get better while on the program?

Many patients experience a reduction in symptoms while on the program. However, some do experience a temporary increase of symptoms while their body is detoxing. Common symptoms may be flu-like aches, headaches, slight upset stomach, or constipation.  Those mild symptoms usually recede within a few days though. If you experience any severe symptoms, please consult your health care provider.

  • I’d like to lose a few pounds. Will the Detox Made Easy program help me do this?

Although the DME program is not specifically designed for weight loss, many people lose a few pounds while doing the DME regimen. It’s believed that the switch to a more efficient metabolic function is the cause for this weight loss. We also see a balancing of sugar levels in the blood which may account for it as well.

  • Is the DME safe for children?

The Program is designed for individuals over the age of 18.

  • Will I be hungry on this program?

You may miss some foods, but you will be eating and drinking plenty. For those that follow the recommendations for the suggested foods, protein shakes and supplements, hunger is rarely an issue beyond the first day or two.

  • Can I skip a protein shake if I am not hungry?

We recommend that you take the shakes in order to maximize the results. They not only contain a good source of calories and nutrients, but they are an essential part of what makes a deep detox possible.

  •  What else can I do to help my body detox?

During the DME, your body is using much of its resources for detoxification, it is recommended that you do mild exercise daily and get plenty of rest. Take a bit of time off each day for relaxation and renewal; use some of the breathing exercises and other relaxation techniques that can be found in this manual. Give your body
and mind the break that it needs to heal.  This is not the time to start a strenuous exercise program or train heavily for a competition.

  • How often should I do the DME program?

Most people can benefit from doing the program twice a year. Even greater benefits can be seen from people who do it every 3-4 months.
